What happens before signing a lease?

Easy as 1,2,3, Call the rental agent, sign an agreement, move in? People often sideline the intricacies involved in entering into a lease – this is thanks to the hard work and dedication Property Managers put in prior to your move…

Here are just a few things done on your behalf:

  1. Arrange the Lease Agreement, and read the fine print: The Property Manger will ensure that you understand with the terms of the lease, this will avoid any confusion later on.
  2. Inspect the property: ‘The property manager will make certain the apartment meets the level of comfort and cleanliness you need, if not they will always attempt to        work it into the agreement, otherwise they will advise you to find an alternative.   3. Document existing damage: Look out for damage i.e.: stained carpeting, broken blinds and document it before moving in, this will avoid any finger pointing at a later stage.
  4. Pet Policies: If you have a fluffy or feathery child the property manager will ensure your prospective rental allows animals, this may be a deal breaker…
