Open Day Selling

By Danielle Banton

Many of us have been faced with the task of selling our homes, be it to down -size for retirement or an upgrade to accommodate a growing family. The whole process can feel rather daunting. To minimise stress the ultimate goal would be to sell on the first show day.

Here are some professional tips from Ashley Bierman, Associate Director of Ray White Double Bay on how to sell your home quickly:

  1. Price it right: Serious buyers tend to do their homework before even considering putting in an offer. Serious sellers should ensure that they reach those informed buyers with a calculated price tag, achieved by thorough investigation of past trends, most importantly making use of the information network of a reputable agent, acknowledging the true value of the property.
  2. Spring Clean: Put away clutter, clean light switches, burn scented candles. A new coat of paint can never hurt.
  3. Stage your home: Once the home is spotless ensure all personal items are removed, if you can afford it, hire a company like Coco Republic who specialise in interior design and home staging. Create the idea of a home buyers can see themselves living in.
