On the 14th of June, RWDB held a telethon charity drive to help raise funds for JCA (The NSW Jewish Communal Appeal) where everyone at the RWDB offices donated their time to help make the night a success
JCA is the communalhubof the NSW and ACT Jewish communities, and helps to connect the needsof communal members with the services that communal organisations provide. But really it is so much more than that. JCA is an organisation that cares and helps better the local Jewish community. JCA consists of a professional office, dedicated volunteers and a whole community of supporters. JCA engages in planning, fundraising and facilitation to secure the local Jewish community’s vibrant future.
Once again the team at RWDB did an outstanding job for JCA and the community. Together RWDB raised over $100,000 for our community (which may in fact be a record for any night of telephone campaigning in the history of JCA) and more donations are expected to flow in from donors who requested pledge cards.
With these funds, JCA can continue to feed the hungry, look after children with disabilities, care for the aged and continue to provide a platform to combat anti-Semitism and give a voice to Holocaust survivors to ensure history does not repeat itself.
This could not have been done without the hard work, effort and dedication of all those involved from the RWDB office, not to mention many others who played a role in making it all possible.
