With rentals on the rise, Director Michael Krimotat at Ray White Double Bay has observed that people are prepared to pay a premium for homes that suit their needs. Here are Michael’s tips on the top 5 ‘little extras’ that make a rental more desirable:
Safety: Other than a location in a safe neighborhood, there are a few specific apartment amenities that can add some security and may be worth shelling out extra for each month. These features include an intercom system, multiple locked entrances or a doorman.
Built-in utilities: Utilities that are part of monthly rental, especially water, heat, gas, electricity, internet or cable.
Extra storage: Apartments with enough storage for everything are few and far between. Many renters pay a monthly fee to keep items in a storage unit – getting rid of that extra monthly cost could make up for the added rent.
Convenient laundry: In-building laundry facilities are valuable mainly for their convenience, but it’s a price worth paying for most people.
Fresh coat of paint: A fresh coat of paint goes a long way in giving the property a crisp new look.
