They say that time is the most precious gift you can give. Ray White Double Bay, together with Variety – the Children’s Charity have been working together to spearhead Ray White Double Bay Cares – where the whole team will be coming together to support communities in need not just by giving of their time, but resources too. As stated by Craig Pontey (Ray White Double Bay Director) “It is vital for us, and our surrounding businesses to utilise our available resources to benefit those who are less fortunate.”
The initiative will see $100 from every sale go directly towards helping Variety to provide practical equipment and services to children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs.
On Monday, 2 May, the campaign was launched internally with Variety where the first of many upcoming volunteer days was held at Vaucluse Public School. And, the children even got to enjoy a drumming session with Rhythm village. The team had an amazing day kicking off the program alongside Variety – the Children’s Charity, who use music therapy to help students realise their potential in a fun way – evident in the smiles seen by all.
Pontey said the initiative is a great way to give back to the community from the heart. “Ray White is a family business, it is something we are proud to be a part of. The heart of our business is very much embedded in these values and we are committed to affecting authentic change.”
Along with every $100 donation, and participating in volunteer days, Ray White Double Bay Cares plans to hold frequent fundraisers, support local community events, sponsor local clubs and charity groups and their annual A Little Ray of Giving Christmas gift drive.
The first of these fundraisers was kicked off at the auction on Thursday night, where a signed Waratahs’s Super Rugby jersey along with an iconic yellow kids bike and a bottle of Verve where auctioned off for $2330.
